A Path Less Traveled

Born in Boston, Roland’s life took a turn when he enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1988, stationed at Camp Pendleton. After his service, he pursued a degree in multimedia animation, with a passion for 3D character modeling and motion capture. Despite his talent, finding work in this field proved challenging.

For 15 years, Roland worked as a maintenance engineer at Palomar Hospital. It was here that people constantly mistook him for a personal trainer. Little did they know, he was about to embark on a fitness journey that would transform his life and the lives of countless others.

A Late Bloomer’s Triumph

At 50 years old, inspired by a friend, Roland entered his first men’s physique competition, placing an impressive 4th. This ignited a fire within him. Three years later, at the age of 53, he achieved the pinnacle of bodybuilding success by winning his Pro card in Pittsburgh.

Bryce Ward – Personal Trainer in San Marcos

Hi my name is Bryce Ward,
A little about me !!

I was born and raised in Northern Kentucky moving to San Marcos with my family. In 2017 I decided to attend Cal State San Marcos, to receive my bachelor of science in Kinesiology, which I recently obtained in 2021. After the first year into the program, I immediately knew personal training was my passion. I am fully dedicated to helping individuals with rehabilitation, wellness, and fitness goals.

My journey in fitness began when I was very young, I have been active my whole life with weight lifting and sports. I started my career very young playing in highly competitive sports such as football and baseball. I played baseball for 10 years in both high school and state select teams. My competitive drive, teamwork, and determination led to my interest in weight lifting and training because it was constantly a part of my lifestyle being coached by some of the top trainers in their field.

Since graduating with my B.S. in Kinesiology from California State San Marcos and NASM certification, I have been training individuals for over 4 years now and have been training myself for 8 years and I have absolutely fell in love with movement and fitness, thus I wanted to share and experience how I can help you with your own goals and aspirations.

Hayley Carlton – Certified Personal Trainer

Hi there! I’m Hayley, a passionate fitness trainer dedicated to helping people achieve their goals and develop a deep appreciation for fitness. My journey started with a lifelong commitment to an active lifestyle, including gymnastics and dance in my youth.

In high school, I chose weight training over physical education, sparking my love for lifting weights. Discovering my scoliosis at 15 led me to focus on strengthening my back, laying the foundation for my interest in corrective exercises.

In my thirties, a personal journey of sobriety brought me back to training and proper nutrition. Eager to deepen my knowledge, I pursued formal education in fitness.

After years in a desk job, I realized my true calling was to be a full-time trainer. I love connecting with individuals, witnessing their progress, and sharing in their joy as they improve their physical well-being.

Outside the gym, I enjoy cooking nutritious meals, spending time with my husband and pets, and indulging my passion for travel and backpacking.

In summary, my journey as a fitness trainer is shaped by personal experiences, a love for physical activity, and a commitment to empowering others to live healthier lives.
